Review on Mind Reader Charm Metal Untility by Jody Hatfield

Cheap, flimsy, and the worst spot welding I've ever seen.

I personally don't think this cart even costs $50! Maybe it will be a good deal at half price! It looks very nice and rustic in the photos, but up close it's really disappointing. What looks like a solid frame is actually VERY thin and flimsy. It bends almost as easily as an aluminum can. Some of these pieces shown in my photo just fell out of the box when I opened it! And yes, they must be spot welded! The panels appear to be wood but are actually just some sort of fake, probably MDF with a thin sticker covering the surface to make it look like real wood. Not even like the thick laminated finishes that MDF is used to put on top of some furniture to make it more durable and scratch resistant. You can tell this is a very thin sticker. To be honest I'd pack it up and return it once I saw the embarrassing welding on it, but I made it for a family member who really needed that new wagon. as a last resort and asked if I could fix it and build it somehow as I'm usually pretty good at fixing things. So, using metal glue and staples, I reattached the broken parts and finished the assembly. Most likely it will be suitable for the light operating conditions they have. There are other strange manufacturing issues as well. Not all screw holes lined up properly and had to be put in place. And not even all the screw holes were drilled with the same diameter, even though all the screws were exactly the same size! What was that crap. It was easy enough figuring out how to assemble it, but the instructions were rubbish. Very few and few details. It was easier to just look at the parts and use logic to figure out how to build them. I would turn it down in my honest opinion.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet
