The paint was chipped on delivery. There is no paint sealer to prevent the paint from cracking and peeling. The shelves are matte black with no glossy finish. Honestly, it's not worth its nearly $200. Better go to Michaels or Joanna to make your own. Also, do not place heavy objects on the shelves. Light roles or minifigures only. Not recommended if you want to place heavy crystals.
