I was disappointed when I received the LCD timer. It came in a small bubble wrap box, with no zip ties or instructions on how to install it. If I didn't see how to install it on YouTube I wouldn't have a clue. This type of gauge uses an induction wire that is wrapped around the spark plug wire five times and the other end inserted into a slot on the gauge. I installed this on my tractor mower where the spark plug is on the front of the engine. The induction cord was too short to run the wire somewhere less visible. There is a spot on the dash panel that has room for an extra gauge, so I wanted to mount it there and drill a hole in the panel to put the wire through. Unfortunately the cable is too short, so I had to route it through the gap between the hood and hood panel. Really looks like Mickey Mouse. I can try connecting an extra wire and hope the voltage drop isn't too big and the meter fails. But the counter seems to work. It has a battery that stores how many hours the machine has been running. Unfortunately, the battery is filled with sealant and is not repeatable. When the battery runs out, the counter becomes useless. In general the meter works, but the lack of instructions and some mounting hardware, a short inductive cable and a non-replaceable battery make it a 3 star device.
