We bought this scale to take on a 7 month trip. Scales take up little space in our luggage. Before leaving we used the scale at home. We wanted to be accurate compared to our full size scales. We are on our 45 month journey and we can confidently say that the accuracy of the scale has decreased. At any one time we can be 2-4 pounds over or under. from the first recorded weight in the morning. That means we advance and then descend 2-4 times and the weight is never the same. control lamp lights up. All you have to do is step back and walk away. If you are lucky, the green light will come on. If you look down while weighing, either nothing will appear or you won't get an accurate reading. This is very frustrating for us, but something is better than nothing. Because of this, I ran other checks to determine the scale's accuracy, and I also confirmed that the scale was not working properly.
