Review on Air washer Winia AWI-40, white/black/orange by Micha Dziubiski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The ratio of price and quality is very pleasing, I will repeat the purchase.

There are a lot of positive reviews on the market, so I focus more on the shortcomings and questionable points, although I rate it 5-. In addition to this unit, I use a Daikin humidifier in another room, so there is something to compare. I consider Winia a good purchase - it is very easy to use (cannot be compared with Daikin, but there is also air cleaning and, accordingly, filters, so it is not very correct to compare), a large tank of 7 liters (in Daikin - 4). There is only one complaint - there is not enough more powerful fan mode. Sometimes there are situations when you need to quickly humidify the room - this will not work here (Daikin has powerful modes when it works with a whistle like a turbine). We always work at maximum mode, including at night (we also have forced ventilation, which makes some noise, you can’t hear the humidifier behind it at all). A full tank of water takes about a day with constant operation. The term "air washing" for such devices is rather marketing, do not expect any significant air purification from it (there are special devices for this, the best of which is IQAir - I will also try to leave a review), although the water really remains yellow and with a noticeable amount dust. But judging by the amount of dust that settles on the fan filter (and passes through it even more), we can talk about washing very conditionally. The control is simple (I would say it doesn’t even exist), the ionization function is not very clear (this is a separate big conversation about the harmfulness / usefulness of ionization in general), there is no “smell of a thunderstorm” at all. I tend to think that this is also more of a marketing ploy. I'm not sure about the 100% correct operation of the humidity sensor - it always shows the same value (it's probably better to buy a separate hygrometer for this purpose). I think the price is quite adequate for this device, although its device is really the simplest (this is more an advantage than a disadvantage).

Pros
  • Relatively compact Stylish design Easy to operate and maintain Large tank capacity fair price
Cons
  • Lacks a more powerful mode of operation
