My 9 year old just started skiing. As his 1st year I expected a lot of ski accidents and on his 1st downhill he fell 30 feet. It felt like it would take forever to walk down the little hill. With reinforced knees and lower legs, they held up great! I am proud). He had his share of the downfall on them. And since these are steeper trails, the wrecks are a bit more rugged. as it can slide over 30 feet before it comes to a stop and there is no sign of tearing or wear on them. He also said that they are very warm. Underneath he wears long johns as a base layer. And to top it off, I don't know what the ml water rating might be, but there was no water ingress. Result. Unless you have a bad cold I think this is the perfect find for kids to keep warm and dry.
