Review on πŸ”Š Anker PowerConf Bluetooth Speakerphone: Enhanced Voice Pickup & 24H Call Time for Home Office Meetings by Jesse Jewett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great with Microsoft Teams and Win10. Zoom is a little shaky on MacOS 10.15.5

I rarely write reviews but have used this extensively over the past week and have been very impressed. I spend about 50% of my workday making calls through Microsoft Teams and I'm tired of wearing a headset and luckily I have a home office where I can close the door to privacy. So my 90% use case is a person speaking on a desktop in a private office. Great: - Excellent echo cancellation and noise reduction. I work with a mechanical keyboard, which is quite noisy, and even with my Jabra Evolve 75, I occasionally hear my typing noise. Not so with Anker PowerConf. Similarly, on a windy day on the patio, on a windy day, the people on the other end of the line didn't understand. True plug and play functionality with MS Teams and Win10. Nothing had to be installed. It just works. - The hardware mute button is very useful. I can mute for a few moments and MS Teams doesn't show that my audio is muted. So-so: - DSP adds reverb to your voice. Office headset with boom microphone. However, the voice quality suffers a little from the strong DSP. It's a reasonable compromise as the DSP noise reduction is really impressive. Jitter support in macOS 10.15.5. It was plug-and-play here, but the hardware volume buttons didn't change volume, and the Zoom calls I made on my iMac had intermittent volume issues. Your mileage may vary, but I unplugged the speaker and used it as a microphone only. - Weak bass. It would be great if I could listen to music without using the phone and I would be very happy about that. But the phone lacks good bass (it's quite small, to be honest) and it's no substitute for a Bluetooth speaker. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and it's great for my use cases. Just be aware that there are some downsides.
