I have a working small form factor PC with no built in speakers. I first bought a set of USB speakers with a single cable (power and sound are transmitted over a single USB cable). It didn't work because my computer was old enough that the audio was constantly leaking and it was impossible to even listen to it. Then I bought this Archeer device because it is only USB powered but the audio comes through the 3.5mm headphone cable. This one works fine! There isn't much bass in the sound and when it's turned on it gets pretty loud but not very dynamic if you get my meaning. However, it works well for my purpose of just playing background music in a dedicated office space. Another advantage is that this block seems to be very efficient. With the X-Dragon USB Meter https://www.amazon.com/X-DRAGON-Multimeter-Chargers-Capacity-Accuracy/dp/B019RHJRM8/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=xdragon&qid=1619309502&sr=8-6 I have Measured Power drawn from the USB port is 0.04 amps (just over 0.3 watts), even with loud music playing. I am assuming that there is an efficient Class D amplifier built into this unit. The single volume knob in the center is good. In combination with the volume control integrated in Windows 10, the overall volume can be easily adjusted. When the handle is turned off, the blue light surrounding the handle goes out, another nice feature. As another reviewer pointed out, the cable can be split up to the speaker, allowing for a clear separation of the 3.5mm jack and USB power. Someone got it right!
