UPDATE: I'm changing my 1⭐ review to 5⭐ review

UPDATED: For those of you who couldn't connect to WiFi or were able to stay connected to the Orb Mini Camera like before. I believe the directions are the problem as they are not in the order in which the various camera events occur or are not related to that particular camera period as I have found. For example, when troubleshooting connection issues during the initial setup process, it is recommended to use the included stylus to insert it into the small Wi-Fi reset button on top of the camera next to where you insert the micro SD card, and instructs you to keep holding the stylus until you hear continuous music. This has never happened to me after several attempts. However, I did notice that when I was interrupted by someone speaking to me as I was inserting the stylus and immediately releasing it ALMOST instead of continuing to hold the stylus, I actually heard continuous music. In other words, don't long press when inserting a PIN to reset WiFi or troubleshoot. Just plug in until you feel the reset button fully depressed for 1-2 seconds, then release. So that was the first thing the instructions went wrong with (unless my orb mini camera is faulty and I'll find out soon as I'm preparing to install the second one I bought which I also wanted to return). Another thing I noticed is the CLICK, which is a normal part of the process, doesn't actually happen when it indicates it should have, but at other times during the install process. To be honest, only a few things matched the order listed in the instructions, such as: B. Entering your WiFi name and password and seeing a countdown while the camera tried to connect! I was so frustrated that he repeatedly tried to connect it in my house, that I had a great wifi signal and no issues with any of my other wifi connected devices, and I even renamed the device, updated several times and the device uninstalled from the Netvue app multiple times and nothing seemed to work so finally I just gave up leaving it where I wanted to install it (1 room from the room where my fios router is located where I was) outside of a very high table, so I sat on it (so the Wi-Fi signal can travel freely throughout the house). However, a few hours later I check my phone after getting the notifications and lo and behold, in addition to the motion detection notifications for my 2 full size circle cameras, it finally showed an online bullet mini camera showing me video footage. I then immediately checked the settings to see what the results are in the WiFi Analysis menu and it was around 80% or better for a good WiFi signal. So this next part is VERY IMPORTANT, it showed in the Netvue app that there was a FIRMWARE UPDATE available that needed to be done for the mini orb camera but as I couldn't get the mini orb to work earlier with WiFi to stay connected, I couldn't complete the update. Now that it's been online for a few hours I can use the controls in the app to move the camera position, pan and tilt and listen through (the audio on the mini-sphere is AMAZING way by the way). much better than the full size ORB cameras as the audio is distorted and wheezing, both on the camera itself and in the application), I decided to finish the firmware update immediately while it was still online and working properly . Since then it has worked flawlessly. The moral of the story (my overall experience) is NOT give up. If you can even get it to connect to WiFi 1x and go through most of the setup process (other than updating the firmware), just let it run for a few hours and then come back and see if it works , or check the app to see if you can watch videos from this camera. As mentioned, I don't find the instructions for setting up the mini balls to be entirely accurate, all you have to do is play around with the camera and the app for a bit, then maybe let it sit for a while and then everything seems to sync up with meaning, it starts to work. I hope this helps some of you who are having trouble connecting to wifi as this is truly a POWERFUL LITTLE CAMERA with excellent clarity for resolution and video quality and great sound! In closing, I don't know if this will cure any of you, but I haven't subscribed to any of the Netvue subscriptions for security, motion detection, or people alerts as I've found both services/features to work great with a San Disk 128GB Ultra memory card Micro SD is all by itself. It allows me to go back to videos by date and time with this timeline feature that allows you to easily scroll through all time periods of the videos and I can share via text message, email, etc. I LOVE THESE CAMERAS and the fact that this company doesn't try to force you into using their online storage and security services like many other products require. I have Xfinity Home Security because it gives me a good deal on homeowners insurance, with one of their indoor cameras that costs $199.99, and I can't do almost what I can with these cameras, like pan, pan, and camera position Tilt, zoom and no sound. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Such a shame, I think you get what you pay for. Received this as an offer of help and thought the price was too good to be true. I also thought maybe the unit itself was defective because I have 2 large indoor Orb cameras and they work great, even one of them is on the opposite end of my house from the router and on a different floor and it works great. So I bought a second Orb Mini camera a few days ago to make sure the first one wasn't defective, but it had the exact same issues. The setup process didn't go as recommended either. I'm sending both mini cameras back, they're junk!

Pros
  • Realtime Human Detection Alert. Netvue Puppy Camera offers real-time motion detection. Motion alerts are sent to your phone to notify you of any potential danger in your home. This internal security camera, combined with the application of artificial intelligence, invalid alert filtering and targeted optimization algorithm, makes the alerts very accurate.
Cons
  • Protection
