GFCI could not be made to work.

I spent about 3.5 hours today getting the GFCI socket to work. I don't know if the reset button was broken or something else wasn't working. I ended up having to install a regular outlet in its place so the rest of the circuit could be used. I don't know if I should order another one from this NO NAME brand or order from another supplier. The mark may read "TR GFCI Safety Outlet". I don't know if I should try to contact the seller?
