My friend's car is from 2003 with Bose speakers but the tape recorder sounded terrible. To be fair, we used a ribbon adapter in our phone's headphone jack, so I wasn't expecting better sound quality, but it shouldn't have sounded *that* bad. The tape recorder has never been cleaned in 15 years. It seems we got it right. I've run this tape cleaner a couple of times - the platter automatically switches to the other side of the tape - and a couple of times I've had to throw the cleaner away to apply more solution. It took about 10 minutes but I finally got good sounding music off my tape recorder. I give this product five stars because on the day With cassette cleaners becoming less and less relevant, this product has done its job. It's not perfect, but a few more purges could change that. In any case, I have received noticeable changes from using this product.
