Review on ๐ŸŽง Waterproof Short-Cord Headphones (Reinforced Cord) - Swimbuds Flip by Greg Usry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good fit, good sound, nice finish

I used headphones which are about 1/3 the price of the Swimbuds Flip. I have replaced them 3 or 4 times because the cable has shifted and one of the headphones has stopped working. Also, the sound quality was poor. The wire diameter of the Swimbuds Flip is at least twice as high as that of the cheaper model. Also, the junction of the right and left cables appears to be waterproof. Although I wasn't expecting much from the sound quality (you're swimming and there's a lot of background noise), the sound quality of the Swimbuds is very good. You can hear lower frequencies along with higher frequencies. I've used the Swimbuds 15-20 times and swam about 60,000 meters in a freshwater lake. They hold up very well. Conditions are often moderately rough and the Swimbuds stay in place (I haven't tried flipping them yet, but jumping off a dock doesn't knock the Swimbuds off). Two suggestions for fit: (1) If they fit one ear but not the other, try different sized ear tips. (2) Apply a product like Goo or Vaseline to the earbuds before putting them in your ears. This has two positive effects: the buds slide easily into the ear canal and the goo keeps water out. Improved fit leads to better sound. Ditch those cheap headphones, buy Swimbuds Flip, plug them into your ears and your favorite waterproof MP3 player (I have an iPod Shuffle with a waterproof coating from Underwater Audio) and go for a swim.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great
