I decided to try this food because I am transitioning my dogs from a grain-free diet as there is mounting evidence to suggest that canine heart disease related GF diets. I chose Earthborn based on a recommendation and decided to give Unrefined Kibble a try. ADVANTAGES: - My dogs love the taste and absorb it. - The crumbs are small and not too hard which is good for one of my older dogs. - The food actually smells nice and keeps well in an airtight container. - At the moment one of my dogs is doing well with this food as part of her diet, she is a Shar Pei and so far she has not had yeast proliferation, weight gain or a bout of ear infections (reasons I had her on GF). And my picky eater Scotty Chihuahua is good at food too. CONS: - I am raising a young Idah Cormorant (mostly a border collie/terrier mix). He doesn't like this food. That gives him gas security. I tested it with this feed and without it. He farts on food, without it he's back to normal. He was also very itchy from eating. My guess is that the gas is due to him absorbing food quickly and essentially fermenting it in his gut and causing gas (I've looked up the causes of gas dogs and this one fits). He may be allergic to some of the ingredients. And of course I think everyone will be outraged at the price. However, if the quality remains under control, a higher price can be expected. You get what you pay for - I also find that Revain's prices are better than regular retail prices.
