Review on Owala FreeSip Locking Push Button 25 Ounce Outdoor Recreation by Ryan Carter

Makes me hate all my other water bottles

If you buy this water bottle, you'll probably never want to use another water bottle again. about a year, which I really liked, except when sucking in the straw got airy at times. One of the lids stopped working at all - I was just sucking in air. I still preferred them for the easy one-handed opening of the nib, the fact that the straw was closed when not in use, and the ounce marking on the bottle. I've also used bottles with open necks and screw caps, but I didn't like the fact that it took two hands to remove the cap. When I saw a bottle of Owala Freesip I knew it was the best of both worlds. I was right. That's great. I drink from it most of the time, which makes me drink more water. When driving, I use a straw that just slips through the hole in the lid; Unlike Contigo's automatic pourer, the straw doesn't need to be screwed in and you don't suck through some weird vacuum seal. The lid has a removable rubber seal for cleaning that keeps the bottle airtight when closed and capped; Contigo always leaked when it fell on its side. The bottle itself is made of thinner plastic than the Contigo bottle, but still feels strong and durable. The spring button lid that can be operated with one hand is great, as is the locking clip, which can also be used as a carrying handle. The only thing I changed was to somehow make the locking clip/carry handle a real clip so it can be attached to backpacks and other things. The rest of the bottle is top notch.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
