I really wanted to like this radio but was disappointed. I had wanted something that would work in emergencies (besides my old R.S. radio) and was hoping this would fit the bill. Unfortunately it just seems a little too fiddly.Charging the device should be straight forward, but for whatever reason I seem to have to plug and un-plug the device a couple times before the lights will indicate it is charging. Another reviewer had mentioned needing to put it in the 'ON' position in order to charge. this also seems to be the case at least for mine. Once it's charging I can never seem to get to 100%, the indicators always seem to stop at 75% and flashes at the 100% mark. Perhaps this is normal?Radio controls seem a little 'clunky', which i am ok with, but they don't always seem to engage. I have to move the dial multiple times before the radio selects the appropriate band. The volume knob has a really nice click to it, but again I have to 'click it' multiple times before the unit will turn on.SOS function is nice, works great, super loud too! Flash light functions are fantastic, I have used it for multiple projects around the house and have been very pleased. Hand-crank charging is a little hard to measure. I did spend 15min operating the crank and was able to charge the battery, so it works, but it's hard to tell how much power you are putting in and how long the device will last.Overall I am mixed on the unit. I will keep it in my emergency kit for now, but will not depend on it 100%.
