The main reason for this is that the holes don't start directly on the sole of the shoe. As you can see from the picture the holes are on the top so even when I walk in wet areas my feet don't get wet like other big brands. I actually have 3 pairs. After receiving the first ones I was very happy that I ordered 2 more and my wife and kids are also very happy with these sandals. No more wet feet walking on the lawn after rain or dew! This may be my personal preference but the sizing is a size smaller than it should be in my opinion as these are sandals. They cover my feet, but the sole of the sandal should have enough room behind the heel. So the second time I ordered I ordered a size larger than I needed and it worked great. I didn't have to call support, so I don't know anything about support. And it has holes in it so it won't keep your feet warm when it's cold.
