I am in the USMC and have trouble sleeping at night due to the heat where I need a fan. I bought this fan because it uses D batteries instead of mediocre batteries, but I was very surprised to learn that it can also be powered from my portable charger using the included AC to USB cable. It survived two weeks in my backpack and still ran on the same set of batteries, now I haven't run it at full power all the time but still impressive, at this point I don't know how long the battery set will be last. . I was concerned the fan in my backpack would turn on, but pro tip: I flip the batteries backwards when not in use to prevent this from happening. My only complaint was that the LEDs wouldn't turn off, and I absolutely hate bright LEDs on things. when I sleep, but I covered it with tape to solve this problem.
