New hot brush! - Hair care

A little background on this purchase: Ever since I was a child, my hair has always been difficult to comb. Long or short, no matter what products I used, they always sounded like velcro, and combing was an absolute agony - literally and figuratively! But I thought it was a problem that all people face. It wasn't until much, much later that I realized that that wasn't the case. Even when I sported a bob, my hair was notorious for breaking even the most recommended brushes. Did I mention four of my friends brushed my hair in high school? Anyway, I discovered the Tangle Teezer a few years ago thanks to several blogs and hair care forums. It was better than my old brushes and I used them for a couple of years until the bristles fell off. Since then I've bought several no-bean versions that were cheaper but worked almost as well. However, recently Amber Anse's YouTube video made it into my picks for this brush and I'm interested. Well after doing a little research and realizing that the set was at a good discount I took the plunge and bought it. I first used a travel brush when I went on a trip shortly after it arrived. The brush was nice and compact and I liked the little bristle box. I wish I had this on my Tangle Teezer, but oh I digress. The travel brush was very easy to hold and certainly served its purpose. Now my hair still sounds like velcro (laughs) but my hair hasn't gotten tangled due to less exercise and less shedding. When I came back I tried the regular brush and I have to say it works better than I expected and even better than the travel brush. Many times my Tangle Teezer would miss sections completely or fail to untangle certain tangles and I would have to come back with a second brush to finish the job. Not so with this brush. It even unraveled the creepy area at the back of my head. The brush itself has held up well so far. The travel brush and case survived the toss during the week-long trip, being tossed from bag to bag and placed in a 50-pound bag for the long flight home. The standard brush feels very light and I'm concerned about how long it will last, but so far it has exceeded my expectations. In any case, I will report on further developments. I have included a reference picture for my hair and its length. I bought a comb for thick hair because although my hair looks pretty thin in the photo, it's a bit deceptive. (I promise I took care of those awful ends and those last few inches!) And with a reputation for my hair getting beat up by even the best brushes, I wanted to try a brush for thicker hair after seeing what she can. (Really, I don't know how to do that with thick, curly, voluminous hair!) Also, the colors were prettier. Yes, I'm 5. Overall, this brush gets 5 stars. Of course updates will come if anything changes. But right now my only regret is not buying two with this discount. *sigh*
