Review on SanDisk 8GB Clip Player Blue by Jon Ford

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for money

Have had this device for several months. I really like it, partly because of the 5 button interface and partly because it's well made. I bought Sony headphones to listen to music, audio books and FM radio. The sound quality seems very good to me, however I am an older person and older men tend to have less bandwidth. I find the 5-button interface easier to use without looking at the screen and without having to breathe on my dry fingers to provide enough resistance that touchscreens require. I can also listen to it while my wife is sleeping and turn it off without looking at a brightly lit screen. I use iTunes to organize my digital music and podcasts. This device requires drag and drop (or move) to transfer folders from your computer to your MP3 player. At first I thought it would be a nuisance, but there are no surprises from the mysterious software. The only part of this device that I don't like is the micro USB connection, which feels fragile. Another small downside is that the Audible books are output in the left channel and nothing in the right channel. Why isn't there a software fix for this, namely stereo/mono settings? I gave 5 stars for "storage capacity" because it's ok for me. I store a lot on my cloud drive but not on my MP3 player.

Pros
  • Ultra light portable personal music player
Cons
  • Can't remember
