Wear a good pair of jeans underneath as recommended.
They are easy to put on or wear. They stayed clean after 9 miles of riding through tall grass. I can't say they work by definition. I didn't see any snakes. However, by wearing them with good walking shoes and jeans as recommended, I was able to focus on the hunt and not the snake.
