As someone new to diamond painting, I was very glad I read some articles and watched some videos for advice BEFORE I started. If I tried this hobby, let's say without a lightboard, I don't think I would enjoy it! In any case. This kit and the purchase of washi tape to cover the sticky edges of the canvas really gave me everything I needed to get started (although I ended up ordering one of these things, which includes four drill plates because I got tired of only working with one color at a time, and I also had trouble pushing the drill tray -- having one of these really enhanced the diamond painting experience!) Let's get back to this product. The light bar is good - I like the progressive dimming (as opposed to a few settings) but I don't understand why the brightness is uneven with the board at the top (where it plugs in) being much brighter than the very bottom. But no matter what, there's enough light to work wherever the part of my canvas I'm working on hits the light panel! (I wouldn't mind if the board was a few inches longer either, but that's enough too.) I liked the bag, the rest of the stuff goes in and I feel that i have almost all small tools i need .or may be required. I briefly tried one of the multifunctional pens, but wasn't a fan (not that there was anything wrong with the pen), especially as I'm more of a meditative type of diamond painting and I'm not in a hurry. finished the picture as fast as i can. Oh, and I also use the drill organizer a lot and have had almost no issues with it misbehaving (opening the compartment when it shouldn't or whatever).
