Edit: A week later and as cartilage piercings I can't recommend them. My ears aren't even that big, but the thin end of the ring doesn't fit through the hole in the cartilage. After trying to pinch them despite the tight fit, I found that they were squeezing my cartilage and it was getting more and more painful. I've obviously taken them out and have no intention of using them for anything EXCEPT for earlobe piercings. Please remember; If you are looking for a good quality cartilage/spiral ring that fits comfortably in most ears, I don't think this is for you. It's only been an hour with them so just ignore the star rating. They're light and cute and the chain is quite short if you're looking for something that isn't too loose. I bought them with the intention of placing one in the right lobe and the other in the left helix. It nestles well against the earlobe and, as I said, is very light and I don't even notice how it dangles. However, problems can arise when piercing the spiral. The thin part of the ring that goes through the hole is quite short, so it may not reach the other side of the cartilage. The end was barely long enough to pierce the back of my cartilage and you have to pinch it so it's really tight now. I have some excitement about wearing it so I'm waiting for it to wear off, but definitely not by much if you plan on using them as cartilage rings.
