We ran it from the sound booth to the stage to output video to the stage monitor. Worked very well EXCEPT the connectors are cheap and fragile. On our first test out of the box, with the plug connected to the source, the plug tapped (really touched), flexed 90 degrees, and then fell apart. With deadlines tight I decided to take a chance and returned it for a replacement of the same product because of the price and because I knew it would work if it lasted. It survived the 2nd install and works fine. Maybe the first one I received was already damaged in production or shipping and I didn't realize it. Nevertheless, the connections are made of plastic. Be extra careful when connecting. If it's a high-traffic area or involves frequent plugging and unplugging, you might want to look for something that comes with higher-quality ports. IMPORTANT: As others have pointed out, this cable carries the signal in one direction! You need to connect the "source" to the source (camera, computer, game system, etc.) and the other end to the display (TV/monitor). If you do it the other way around, it won't work. Despite reading this warning several times, I still plugged it in the wrong way the first time. Short HDMI cables work anyway, so it's easy to forget them. If you are doing a complex installation with a long cable, make sure you test it first and position the source/display ends to the right of the installation.
