Revain's reviews never cease to amaze me at the lack of common sense. Yes it is glass and both the description and the packaging say it is suitable for hot tea. NATURALLY THE GLASS WILL BE HOT TO THE TOUCH. Even the box says to be careful. This glass is more suitable for cold brewing and fruit infusion. No more whining, the glass is beautiful. Well, actually one more thing to rant about. OF COURSE, ITS GLASS IS FRAGILE. Why use a glass jar for daily travel? It's not stainless steel. Seriously, stop posting such stupid negative reviews because you all lack common sense. Yeesh The jar has a beautiful iridescent sheen and a bamboo wood veneer lid. I would hand wash this only because some people have reported the veneer blistering and peeling. The filter basket could have been a little deeper, but that doesn't really bother me. Nice that it comes with its own rotary screen handle. I plan to use it exclusively for cold brew, amniotic fluid, or 1-2 hour warm brew. If you want to use this for hot brewing, buy a silicone stick.
