I bought this camera two years ago and it still works the same as the day I received it. It was pretty cheap back then and I was just looking for a fairly basic point and shoot to use for family gatherings because my brother and sister-in-law had just had their first child, the first of the new ones. generation for our family. On the plus side, besides the price, it's also somewhat compact. It's not the smallest camera, but it's definitely smaller and thinner than many other cameras I've looked at. It has many different settings (although I rarely use them) for motion, portraits, etc. The screen on the back is very clear and a good size considering the overall size of the camera. It takes high-resolution images, but there's something missing when you view them full-size on a computer. It is best if you are shooting outdoors. There are very few instances where I have photographed outdoors and been disappointed in the slightest. Surprisingly, the videos it records are of very good quality for a camera in this price range, and the microphone picks up sounds and voices very well. The battery and SD card are very easy to reach and slide in and out easily, although it's too easy to reinsert the battery the wrong way around if you're not careful. On the negative side, the camera really falls short when it comes to indoor shots. I often catch myself not using flash because of the kids (we have quite a few in that age range now) and I don't want to distract them from what they are doing or bug everyone with flashes every 5 seconds when I'm trying to fetch pictures of their game. Even when rooms are well-lit with natural light, photos always look a little washed out or grainy (the graininess in this case resembles the colored fuzz or snow you see in smaller phone cameras), and I've gotten plenty of shots that are nice to look at simply because of the topic. Even with the flash on, every picture inside looks like this. It's really weird because the videos I shoot inside turn out really good. If you want to take a lot of photos inside, choose another camera. It also seems to take a while to focus, if at all able to decide where to focus, and when any action takes place the images become blurry. So I have a lot of very blurry pictures of babies. Macro settings are also very poor, even getting close to the subject doesn't capture detail and is unlikely to look any different from shots taken at other settings. Overall I'm pretty happy with this camera. It looks well built, the battery works well which was a big win for me at this price point and it takes very good videos and great outdoor photos. If you're looking for something to take with you when you go out into the great outdoors, I would recommend this camera. Otherwise you can probably get something better for the same price these days.
