They're a lot nicer than the woven wire mesh sink strainers you can get at places like the Dollar Store. They bond well in the sink so I had no problem with things slipping under the rim of the filter. The way the holes are punched but not large really helps the water drain remarkably well without getting clogged with the contents of the drain when washing dishes. Then it's easy to throw garbage/food in the trash. I highly recommend them. These are the best filters I have ever had and I keep them in my sink all the time. I'll update if I encounter any issues with rust or anything like that. They seem pretty solid so I don't expect any problems.
