100% not safe for kids. The plastic piece disintegrated off the main part, the front separated entirely, and the strings popped off once the white knobs broke off. This product should not be sold to kids. It is dangerous.

- Took a beating for about a minute. Strings are fake plastic. Wasn't what I was looking for.
