Review on Dream Me Travel Light PlayYard by Summer Hendricks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I went on vacation, broke up, slept in the arena, everyone slept!

Here's what I know: We got a used Chicco Pack and Play from a friend and EVERYTHING is included (hello, free!), But it was HARD. I'm in shape but it was CARGO, it wasn't easy to move and it wasn't that easy to break down and store. We were planning to drive 4 hours away to grandparents house and with ALL the baby stuff you need for the trip we really didn't know if everything would fit. So I was looking for a lighter travel bag and an option to play with. I've narrowed my choices down to Lotus Travel Crib and this one. We actually have friends who were our 'COVID party buddies' who have a lotus and our girl used it at home in her sleep once and it's fantastic. We ultimately chose Dream on Me because of the price. Here are some comparisons of Chicco pack&play, Lotus travel cot and Dream on Me travel cot: Mattress: Lotus is by far the most comfortable and softest of the three. I don't know exactly but they have all the safety information on the website so I'm sure it's soft enough to be comfortable but safe for baby sleep. Dream on Me isn't as soft as Lotus, but MUCH better than the Chicco packaging and the hard CARDBOARD that was her mattress. If you are looking for the most comfortable and price is not an issue, choose Lotus. Weight: Lotus and Dream are the same for me. I'm sure there's a pound or two difference somewhere, but they're both light enough not to matter. MUCH better than any traditional non-travel packaging. Sorry Chicco. Price: This was a winner for us. We paid about half the price for the Dream compared to the Lotus. We don't travel by the ton now (thank you COVID) so a girl doesn't use a ton of cribs so price ended up being more important to us than mattress softness. I don't think Chicco should be compared to either because it's more expensive because it comes with lots of bells and whistles (like changing table, bassinet, mobile, etc.). These are apples and oranges. Remember that you will also need to buy mattress pads. We chose a cheap jersey set here at Revain and we were pleased. Just make sure it's 2 packs in case your child needs a mattress change in the middle of the night. =P We ALSO bought a crib blanket so it wouldn't be darkened for the girl since we sleep in the same room. It worked PERFECTLY. As always, she slept like a champion. Bon voyage, friends! Hope that helps!
