Whilst this does not require any tools I have noticed a customer fail completely with this and I believe this is due to not following the instructions and lack of experience in such things. The one who works with his hands fails at something and understands it, the man who formulates everything infallibly. I have copied and pasted another buyer's instructions below but I would add this, clean the surface thoroughly, rinse and make sure it is dry before installing. When you lay it down and tighten it, make sure it's evenly aligned. Shown is the installation on acrylic wall material. Any similar, plus glazed and not rough tiles or glass. Carefully consider placement as I'm not sure how easy it is to remove if you get it wrong. If the sticky pad gets dirty or dusty before installation, it will deteriorate and you'll need a replacement, which I think can be purchased separately. From Jack: The SANNO Vacumn Hook suction cups hold up really well. Just follow the instructions and in my opinion the two most important instructions.1. Place the suction cup (all black) where you want it and press firmly with your fingers and thumb. Be sure to press all parts of the cup.2. After attaching the cover and hook to the suction cup, tighten them as tight as possible. Now for the VERY important part: After the second step, DO NOT use the hooks immediately. Wait an hour and then tighten the knob again. You'll be surprised how much tighter you can make it after that hour of waiting. Finally, make sure the surface is smooth. If the device is placed against a textured wall, it is more likely to fall off the wall. Yes, I am very happy with these hooks. So far I have bought four devices.
