I love this set. This is a modern take on what I wanted to avoid, the old "traditional tropical" look. I paired it with an all white West Elm duvet with a subtle texture/stripe that matches the black stripes of this duvet on the palm and blends beautifully together. This duvet folds at the foot of the bed (and pillowcases behind other white pillows) and contrasts with the pure white for a visually stunning look. The satin texture of this set adds a nice layer of modernity to my white duvet. If you're looking for a modern look that doesn't make your bedroom look too traditional, this could be for you. The cotton satin weave has a silky feel and offers great lightweight coverage when you need it - and feels gorgeous against your skin! I didn't put a pad in this comforter as it is at the top of my bed at the foot of the bed. I use a lot of CB2 and West Elm decor and am really relieved that this is a welcome addition to my home as it matches the quality of these other suppliers. "And the price for that was outright theft. You can't get a regal duvet and covers for this price anywhere, at least not where I usually shop. I am satisfied with the quality of this product and amazed at the price. If you clearly define your design requirements, you won't be disappointed.
