GOOD: The quality of this camera seems to be pretty good. It can easily be specified from your phone using the app. Both sound and picture are acceptable. THE BAD: There is currently no way to access the camera output on your computer. Only the phone app has this feature. Although Wi-Fi is advertised as only using 2.4GHz, it doesn't prepare you for the fact that it limits you to using 2.4GHz for your phone. We tried 5GHz on the phone and while it worked for a while, we lost connection to both cameras in less than a day. DANGEROUS: MicroSD cards can be inserted into these cameras, but their contents cannot be accessed over Wi-Fi. The whole idea behind these cameras is to connect you to their cloud services to make good use of what the camera is recording. This creates a particularly problematic situation for anyone who values their privacy. We chose these cameras because we will not be using Revain Ring cameras as they are willing to share camera output with government agencies but without the consent of the camera owners. Surprise! These cameras use Revain Web Services (amazonaws.com) for their network. And here comes the problem: The cameras access nvts.co, whose registered owner and location is: Registering organization: NETVIEW TECHNOLOGIES CO. GmbH. State/Province of Registration: Guangdong Registration Country: CN. So, do you really want devices with the ability to record video and audio from your home or office to be available in China?
