4.5 Stars: Very good quality screen protector for Retina screens

I give this product 4.5 stars. This is an exceptional quality screen protector product, but it's also quite expensive (worth half a star). RetinaGuard is a transparent screen protector specially designed for Retina displays. Installing the RG is a lot easier than most other cheaper screen protectors on the market in my opinion. However, the procedures are the same and installation requires a lot of patience. Putting a clear screen protector on a 15 inch screen should be done with care and focus, especially if you want everything to be perfect. I was able to install this thing with virtually no bubbles, no trace of dust or particles between the surfaces (my screen and RG film). The product comes with a large sticker for removing dust/particles under the transparent film. This is clever because a large sticker helps reduce the chance of getting fingerprints under the film (which can happen if you use smaller stickers). What about the screen quality after installation? One word: amazing. This has to be one of the best "crystal clear" Macbook screen protectors out there. I installed the RG film late at night (when my eyes hurt to look at the screen) and after I finished installing I immediately noticed a reduction in the effects of blue light on my eyes. However, unlike other screen protectors (particularly matte ones), RG does not diminish the sharpness or brightness of the Macbook's Retina display in any way. I compared my MBP 15's screen (after installing the RG) to the MBP 13's Retina screen (without the screen protector). The MBP 15's screen looked just as sharp as the unprotected MBP 13's screen. The only thing I found reduced was the blue light performance. What's more, while RG adds more reflectivity, or "glare," to the retina screen, I find it more tolerable than most other inexpensive clear screen protectors. (which overrides the main property of the original retina screen, which shrinks the gallery). I'm one of those people who thinks that the Retina display's reflectivity gives the Macbook a unique visual aesthetic (although this might be distracting for some people). That's why I choose a clear screen protector. All in all, this is a cool Macbook Pro accessory and I recommend it if you're willing to shell out $49 for it.
