These are the best shoulder pads that gently accentuate your shoulders for subtle and natural filling of the area. Garments (tops, blouses, sweaters and dresses) fall better in it. For me, the saying "Look better, feel better" definitely applies to wearing shoulder pads. I have small, sloping shoulders that need some padding to make my body look more proportionate. The old, obvious pads from the 80's have been replaced with these thin ones. I have both mini and thin pads. Skinny ones are the smallest, while miniatures are slightly larger and thicker. Both are good, but narrow ones are the most commonly used in my closet. I haven't had a valve breakage problem because I don't wear them. I just slip pads under my bra straps and put on a top. They stay in place pretty well most of the time due to the texture of the foam and don't tear. Wearing them under your bra straps will last you at least a couple of years. I wash them regularly with whatever bar of hand soap I have on my sink right now and let them air dry. Cleaning them occasionally to remove body oils and dead skin cells will keep them smelling fresh and also extend their lifespan as skin oils break down all lather over time. The color changes over time from a light Caucasian skin tone to a pale yellow to a medium yellow. That's the nature of foam over time. I give these pads 5 stars and a thumbs up.
