Based on the reviews here and there I decided to take a chance and buy the Vita headset. I wasn't expecting much given their cheapness, even a plastic construction, but so far I've been wrong. They've been working great on PS4 since May 2015 and are a good, cheap way to interact cheaply. They're mostly metal and the cable is surprisingly thicker than usual, making it an easy purchase. You do NOT look skinny. The sound won't blow you away, but listening to Spotify like some of the latest patches is a really nice combination. As with any microphone, hold down the button on the controller and you can adjust the volume to your liking and easily mute the microphone. Cons: Please, for God's sake, mute button. The switch works well under a single pair of headphones, but most of the time I flip it to the side, forget which path I'm on, and have to open the stats screen (The Last of Us) to see if my mic is on is . There is no screen on the PS4 that mentions this because when it's on all the sounds can come from it. It was only annoying when you're speaking decently and then find the mic is off. Doh! In general, buy a headset if you want a cheap alternative. You won't be disappointed and you can probably find more uses for it than using Vita or PS4. For your health.
