During a major renovation I installed about 100 4 inch LED retrofit lights in our home. center of the hall. It's quite difficult to get light in the middle of the corridor. Then I found this, ballasted the TJI, set up a 4 inch pancake box "centered" in the hallway behind the bedroom door bolted to the TJI, and attached a small thread at the end of the braid from the ballast to the lantern. Unscrew and remove the pancake box and you'll see a perfect 4" hole enclosing the TJI with enough room to drop the pigtail, plug in the light and plug back in over the drywall. The clips go into the void on either side of the TJI and the viola, the light in the middle what the electrician says is impossible. If I had found them sooner I would never have used normal recessed Halo cans. These are cheaper and easier.
