This outfit was perfect for spring weather! It really is 100% cotton, which means it's not the world's thickest material, but you don't need it. My toddler is large for his age (6 months at the time of the ceremony) carrying 12-18 months. Clothing because of his size (he's not particularly fat or thin, just somewhere in between). We have 12-18 months. Size (largest offered) and it was perfect. The cap was adorable and fit perfectly. Also, it was still very hot in our church that day, so I was glad she wasn't overweight. The buttons didn't bother me at all. If it were velcro, it would be a lot more annoying when the baby fidgets (you'd hear the constant "tear!” velcro). In general it serves its purpose, we were satisfied.
