I saw one of these on a sewing machine at school I attended. I've never seen it before, but seen how useful it can be as a seam edge guide. The magnet is very strong on the underside - it won't slip off if the edge of your fabric touches it. There is a kind of hook on one end - I use it to unhook it from the metal plate of the sewing machine. And to remove it you have to work hard. Also works well as a hook to hang my phone on my sewing machine. (I have a metal table that my car sits on and a metal book stand that lifts it up on its own, and my phone case has a ring on the back.) Again - a simple but great tool. I have three packs so I always have one on all three of my machines. :)
