I used to have one like this, but when I moved it stayed where it was. I then bought a nice stainless steel bucket because it looked classier (and we all know compost should look classy!). However, the stainless steel bucket had a lid that had to be removed before anything could be put into the bucket. Of course, I only had one hand free most of the time, so I had to put the lid down somewhere before I could put the leftovers in the bucket. It just seemed so uncomfortable and annoying. So I bought another one of those buckets. With the lid on this bucket, it's easy to pick up with your little finger, especially when the lid hasn't been lowered into the locked position. Even then it is still possible. The lid then stays raised and the plastic tabs can be easily flexed to adjust the amount of force required to get it into a fixed position. In addition, the lid can be closed easily by simply pressing down. The bucket is big enough to hold a lot of kitchen waste. It's easy to clean and, unlike the stainless steel body, won't pick up fingerprints unless your hands are dirty.
