Review on 🎧 S.M.S.L M300 MKII HiFi Audio DAC: AKM4497EQ Apt-X USB DAC Decoder with Hi-Res Bluetooth 5.0 and Full Balanced Output - New Edition (Black) by Kevin Jacobson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great when it works. 5% defects. If there is any problem, please return as soon as possible. Do not wait, like me, or a headache

Sometimes we postpone. I tried it and it turned on, but it NEVER works. It took a long time to arrive. I moved houses. Then Corona. So it was broken from day one. The part of the DAC that is the ALL function was ready from the start. I emailed the company and they requested a video. I tried it with MAC, LINUX and Win 10 with drivers. Nobody recognized him. Disappointed after all the rave reviews. When you buy, please check it quickly as the return window is just after the shipping time calculation. UPDATE - I'm slowing them down (5 or 6 emails and getting through to them) and sending them back to the factory for repair. I would recommend an active version of this or any other DAC (not just USB powered) as most people say the sound quality will be degraded if only powered by USB. If I bring back something that works and sounds as good as everyone says I might get 4 stars. 5 stars if it's that great. If you buy this brand. Any problem, just send it back IMMEDIATELY. Believe me. Okay so it took me a month to get it back to China and get another one back. I switched to the M500 because it has more features and I don't like that the older version uses USB power (many say it's not good). After overcoming the language barrier everything was settled and I sent the defective unit back in exchange for a better one. Shipping both ways to CHINA and 1/2 customs duty for shipping back to my place of residence. If you buy SMSL, get a power adapter (mains connection required) as this causes fewer problems and sounds better. I will buy SMSL again if needed. Great value for money. Just a bit lazy on the QA side

Pros
  • Like everyone so far
Cons
  • There are shortcomings
