We live in an exciting time where quality third-party lenses for Sony cameras can be found for around $300! Everyone thinks that Sony cameras require you to buy BIG and EXPENSIVE lenses. It's not like that at all. This lens surprised me. The only things it lacked was build quality, super lightness and plastic BUT I knew that from reviews and I actually prefer lighter smaller lenses. That's why I switched to mirrorless cameras after 18 years of lugging around big, clunky DSLRs. This nifty fifty focal range is great for portraits, travel, street photography, landscapes or as a versatile lens. This lens is sharp, has good contrast and bokeh. The fast f/1.8 aperture is more than enough to illuminate the background and use in low light for night shots. This lens is made for PRO use and PRO results. You don't need EXPENSIVE G Master lenses.
