Review on Civago Stainless Insulated Tumbler Friendly by Sarah Watson

Beautiful colored stainless steel mug with a terrible lid!

Got this coffee cup today. First let me say that the color is really pretty. I am very disappointed in the case. When I was looking for a coffee mug, I was primarily looking for a 12-14 oz mug. I also wanted a stainless steel mug and tested all of the mugs to those specs. I guess I wasn't quite paying attention (my fault) but to be honest almost EVERY COFFEE MUG in my description has a sliding lid. In fact I checked tonight and ALL BUT THIS has a slider cap! It has the cheapest lid which is almost obsolete today when most people want a lid that doesn't leak. The company says liquids don't "splash." I tried it, and without the sliding lid, it definitely squirts! It has an open hole to drink from and that's it. I wouldn't want to take it in the car because my coffee would splatter all over my body. I tried to contact the seller but couldn't find a way. Going back would probably be too jarring, so I went back to find a sliding lid for a 12-ounce stainless steel mug and couldn't find one. Then I realized that of course these lids probably aren't going to sell because all other brands seem to have sliding lids. I'll probably end up buying another mug from one of the other sellers to have a good lid. I think you understand that I would not recommend this particular mug. If you don't need the EXACT SAME COLOR, you can check Revain first before purchasing. UPDATE: A company called Tervis sells lids for their "12 oz and 20 oz stainless steel jars" and they're half the cost of inventory. Send this mug back then buy another one from a different company (plus I really like the color so I skipped the cheap lid part). So if you bought one of these mugs and want a sliding lid, this is the only place in the line that sells the correct lid. This case fits very well. I washed it under hot water and it fit perfectly. I left it on the counter for a while and it was still there.
