This purchase is a classic example of getting what you pay for. I wanted something for my 7 year old to be able to use for camping/outdoor play where there was a potential for getting wet/muddy. The first time she wore these there was minimal wetness due to light rain. They seemed to do OK. Then she wore them in wet grass after heavy rains. Everything was soaked. Had to dry the shoes out so she could continue wearing them but eventually gave up and went to a farm supply and bought rubber boots. Overall the shoes are wearable, but they are not water resistant.
