I have a vaulted ceiling in my shed. This will result in the locking mechanism not working. I could put a 2x4 on top of the rafters to create a flat surface for the winches to attach to, or just cut out the locking mechanism or use the locking mechanism near the attachment point and replace it with a regular pulley. The anchor point does not allow the stern rope to be tied tightly to it, but in this form it seems quite stable. My biggest concern is the rope that came with one of mine with a fray in the middle of the rope. I could easily buy another one at the hardware store for $8-9, but HF sells a similar item for the same price as a rope. I tried to contact the seller to see if they would send me a new rope but got no response. I lost the box shortly after installing it, so I can't return it. The pulleys appear to have little friction, but that may be because they were mounted in a vaulted ceiling.
