Most parents with children recommend not to spend too much on shoes for children under 5 years old, a 1 year old will outgrow the shoes in just 3 months. The laces are fake and have no purpose other than cosmetic, would rather have double velcro for a more secure grip, the kid will get tired of wearing shoes and just take them off after a while. Good grip, non-slip when wet. A good first shoe but better for arch support or strap protection. The size lasted about 3-4 months before we had to go up a half size, even with the recommendation to take out the insole to extend life, it's just not comfortable.
