Purchased to replace a broken full size mini DP to DP adapter rubber cable. This cable works great and this braided cable is more flexible than regular (thick) rubber cables. This really helps with cable management in the tight space behind the monitor and also seems to put less strain on the ports. If you really need a latch for the DP connector, look elsewhere. However, I think the omission makes it easier to move cables around if needed, keeps the price down, and certainly should hold a proper DP connector well enough without getting blocked.
