Review on Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera Body (Kit Box) - No Lens Included, International Version with No Warranty by Bambang (Bamz) ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product for me, no problems at all.

I used to shoot with a FujiFilm S1600, and back then I used manual modes. As I enjoy reading books with recurring themes, I decided to treat myself to a DSLR and bought this one with an 18-105mm lens. It's easier for me to use M mode, therefore that's what I usually shoot in. The camera's automatic option increases the ISO to 3200, which results in very high-quality images, provided the camera's highest ISO setting is not restricted by the user. The camera's automation is prone to errors, so I wouldn't recommend it to novice photographers, but experienced photographers will find it to be a rewarding experience.

Pros
  • Matrix dynamic range, cost, and usability all score high marks. The camera's buttons are laid out so that they may be safely accessed even when it's completely dark. (Something that feels good in the hands)
Cons
  • Several functions, such as the ability to record video (there are dedicated video cameras for this purpose), would have to be sacrificed if the price were to be reduced.
