I used to shoot with a FujiFilm S1600, and back then I used manual modes. As I enjoy reading books with recurring themes, I decided to treat myself to a DSLR and bought this one with an 18-105mm lens. It's easier for me to use M mode, therefore that's what I usually shoot in. The camera's automatic option increases the ISO to 3200, which results in very high-quality images, provided the camera's highest ISO setting is not restricted by the user. The camera's automation is prone to errors, so I wouldn't recommend it to novice photographers, but experienced photographers will find it to be a rewarding experience.
