I first heard about this in a YouTube video about making face masks. I've been making masks for donations and the folds were difficult to sew: the fabric sometimes slips a bit and the nice clean edges I'm trying to create get a little zigzag. This tool helps guide the fabric and holds it in place until the fabric is guided by the feed dog and presser foot. It's priceless and I would recommend it to anyone doing this style of sewing. I haven't used it for any other purpose, but I think it would make a lot of craft projects easier and less frustrating.
