Our refrigerator has a fixed compartment/drawer for "meat and cheese". the contents of that drawer and turn on along with all other lampholders when the main door is opened. both special (for this box) and as a filling to balance all the interior lighting! They're not exceptionally bright (that's a lumen count referred to here as 400lm) and without higher lumen output bulbs we can't comment on the perceived relative brightness, or lack thereof. They seem to be doing their job in our situation. YMMV if you were to put them in all the lamp sockets for example and not a few rear blocks, middle sockets that are pretty much directly blocked by the box/content being served by the sockets. We also like the light color (6000K). nominal), meaning it's more of a bright white and NOT the soft/warm/yellowish tint seen with lamps in the 3500K range. We have found that higher Kelvin (Daylight/6000K) bulbs are MUCH better for visual clarity, while warmer bulbs are better for softer, more decorative lighting. the bad mood that can arise when you can't see what's in the fridge. Highly recommended.
