Very soft and perfect size to sit on a sofa but only covers about 2/3 of a queen bed so bear this in mind when choosing how to use it. The temp control goes to 9. Before that I had a heating pad just for my knees which got really hot. When I first used this blanket I turned it all the way down just to see how warm it was. and at first I thought it wasn't warming enough, but when it covers most of your body you don't really need that much warmth, so I'm keeping it at 2 or 3 for now. My dog LOVES it, so that's another reason , why i love. And it's a lot better than turning on the heat for the whole house. I haven't tried washing yet, I think that will be the last test. Since I have a dog who loves blankets, I need to wash the blankets regularly.
