Review on 🍱 Thermos 16 Ounce Vacuum Insulated Travel Food Service Equipment & Supplies by Mark Loredo

Improved insulation over Contigo, detachable handle makes the unofficial 'convertible' feature

I've had LOTS of travel mugs and this one will keep you warm for years. The seals loosen a little over time, so you may need to tighten them a little more than you think. You can pour boiling water in that thing and the gasket on top is barely warm - after 4 hours I still have to take the lid off and let off some steam or I'll burn my tongue. Really really impressed with how well it insulates. I was considering a Contigo™ travel mug but have had issues with rubberized handles in the past and there are some reviews that say the insulation is only good for 2-2 hours. I'm staying with Thermos™. The lid also screws on and fits snugly with no risk of leakage. In addition, you can disassemble the cover to clean it thoroughly. One note: I take it to Starbucks quite often; It is sized for medium/large. ONE NOTE: Thermos™ makes two models of this mug: with and without a handle (Shown here: 16 oz Vacuum Insulated Travel Mug, Stainless Steel). The handle is easily removed with a single screw accessed at the bottom and all you're left with is a small bracket on the side of the mug. I like the convertible option; it's certainly not as stylish as the smooth side, but I can always reattach the handle. Sometimes I need a pen and sometimes I don't. The first thing that comes loose, for example, is when driving. First it goes on, the grip goes on. It's really great that I have the choice and can live with a small angle for now (e.g. 1/2" square X 1/4"). I paid for this item with my own money - it was not given for free in exchange for an 'honest' review.

Pros
  • Dining and Hospitality
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
